"I don't know if PM gave transcript to Russian ambassador"

"I do not know if anyone gave any transcripts. Nor does it interest me. I know what she thinks, I know what she wants. I know which path Serbia is on, and I am convinced that such a policy will be conducted by the government of Serbia. There is also a majority in the Assembly of Serbia," he told reporters, adding that Serbia is on the European path.

Vucic remarked that he "did not accidentally pick and choose Ana Brnabic" and that he "knows she is a serious and responsible woman."

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said yesterday that Brnabic had handed the full transcript of her i Bloomberg nterview to Ambassador Aleksandr Chepurin - with whom she met earlier in the week - and that her words about picking the EU over Russia if forced to choose had been "poorly interpreted," Beta said on Friday.

Reporting about Vucic's comments today, Tanjug quoted him as saying that "the strength of Serbia's policy is in not accepting any kind of ultimatums."

According to this, Vucic said that he "doesn't know who spoke with whom, nor whether somebody gave someone else some transcript" - but that he has "full, endless confidence in Brnabic," and, "hopes he won't regret it."

Speaking about his upcoming trip to Turkey, the president said he would meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and possibly once again with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, to discuss the Turkish Stream pipeline, and its possible route to Hungary via Serbia.

Replying to questions from reporters, Vucic also denied that the EU and the US were planning to build "a base" in western Serbia, and remarked that the US already has a base on Serbian soil - Camp Bondsteel, in Kosovo.
