Royalist party gains one member of National Assembly

The movement was established recently by former members of the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO).

Three members of the provincial assembly of Vojvodina on Wednesday left SPO to join POKS, as well as "two thirds of SPO councilors in local assemblies across Serbia, and 44 city and municipal SPO councils," the movement said.

According to Beta's report on Wednesday, a group of SPO officials "submitted their resignations in May, after which the party expelled them" for violating its reputation and acting contrary to its statute and decisions.

The split occurred when the group asked SPO's main board to consider the situation in the party, and the idea to make leader Vuk Draskovic the honorary president.
