"EU membership, regional stability are our priorities"

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday met with Estonian Foreign Minister Sven Mikser, who congratulated the president-elect on the election victory.

"EU membership, regional stability are our priorities"

Vucic and Mikser spoke about "Serbia's European path, bilateral relations between the two countries and relations in the region," the government said on its website.

According to this, Vucic said that "the priority for Serbia is EU membership, as well as the stability of the Western Balkans," while Mikser "stressed that progress on the EU path is very important for the stability of the entire region."

"Membership in the EU is good for the citizens of each country, it is good for attracting investment and for economic exchange with other member states. Estonia will during its presidency in the second half of 2017 continue to support Serbia's European integration," the Estonian official said.

Vucic informed him about economic reforms in Serbia, "which led to the stabilization of the business environment and favorable investment climate."

He "stressed the importance of the free trade agreements CEFTA, EFTA, agreements with Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Turkey, as well as opportunities for export of goods to the markets of these countries."
