Serbian officials offer condolences in wake of Egypt attacks
“We are deeply saddened and horrified by the terrible attacks on Christian churches in Egypt. These horrifying acts that took place on the holiday of Palm Sunday showed that terrorism does not respect holy places and civilizational and cultural values. This is one more proof that the international community must be united in the fight against evil that does not hesitate at anything," Vucic said, and added:"On behalf of the Serbian government and my own, I extend my heartfelt condolences to you, your government and the families that lost their beloved ones, and to the injured I wish a speedy recovery”."
His First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic also offered his condolences in a telegram addressed to Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry
“We condemn in the harshest terms the terrorist attacks on innocent civilians on the Christian holiday of Palm Sunday, which marks the beginning of the holy week prior to Easter," Dacic said.
"We express solidarity with the Egyptian people and give support to the fight against terrorism as the greatest evil of modern time," his message stated, according to the Serbian government's website.
