Serbia-United States relations "set on strong foundations"

Serbia-United States relations "set on strong foundations"

The officials "discussed many issues of mutual interest, including Serbian-American bilateral relations, situation in the region and Serbia’s efforts in implementing social and economic reforms," and "agreed that the bilateral relations of the two countries are set on strong foundations and that they are developing in good direction."

US officials "reiterated America’s support to Serbia's efforts to meet the conditions for EU membership, and stressed that the US Embassy in Serbia is supporting the Serbian government in the European integration process through various programs," the Serbian government said.

Vucic, Palmer and Scott "discussed the regional situation and concluded that it is important to promote better relations in the Western Balkans," with the Serbian prime minister "pointing out that the construction of infrastructure and better economic cooperation without trade barriers would contribute the most to the development of the region and all over Europe, and provide a significant contribution to the preservation of peace and stability."

According to the Serbian government, the US diplomats "expressed their gratitude to Vucic for his leadership and commitment to the fulfillment of this goal."
