Nearly half of all Serbians support EU accession

If a referendum on this issue were held tomorrow, 15 percent would not vote at all, while 9 percent do not know how to respond to the question of "Do you support Serbia becoming an EU member," the results, presented on Monday, showed.

Compared to the June 2016 survey, the number of both, those for and against Serbia's EU membership had increased, while the results are similar to a poll conducted in December 2015.

In the June 2016 survey, 41 percent of the respondents backed Serbia's EU membership, 24 percent was against, while in the February 2015 poll, 48 percent of the surveyed were for and 28 percent against.

Citizens' support for the reforms remains high, with 64 percent of the respondents believing that reforms required for Serbia's accession to the EU should be carried out regardless of the EU requirements for the benefit of the citizens and creating a better Serbia, Beta reported, quoting a statement issued by the Office.
