Serbia "intends to broaden cooperation with Russia"

Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic will arrive in Moscow on December 21, followed by Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic's official visit, it is noted.

"Nikolic's upcoming visit will be very useful for him considering that his mandate will expire in April and Russia's support could help him perform once hold that office," Kommersant writes, and adds:

"Lavrov made an effort to distance himself from supporting Nikolic by saying that Russia will not interfere in Serbia's internal affairs, but the invitation to Nikolic to visit Moscow ahead of the upcoming election is very indicative."
