Serbian government marks 100 days in office

Vucic presented the results of the government to say that Serbia is "stable, on the right track, economically progressive, safe in terms of security and is one of the pillars of regional stability."

"Serbia is firmly on the European track, while preserving its independence, sovereignty and good relations with all our friends - Russia, China, Turkey, the United States and other countries," the prime minister said, according to the Serbian government's website.

"We took care of workers, ordinary people, every man, and that this is why the decision has been made to set the minimum wage at RSD 130, which is an increase of seven percent and refers to both the public and private sectors," he said.

Commenting on the results by sectors, Vucic said that in the first eight months of this year growth has been recorded in the manufacturing and construction industries, as well as in agriculture, the service sector and turnover in retail trade.

The main objective of the government, he underlined, is the permanent reduction of deficit and achieving a long-term sustainability of the public debt.

According to Vucic, it is very important that we have made the greatest progress by 44 places on the Doing Business list of the World Bank.

"Regarding the fight against crime and corruption, Serbia is a safe country, since in only three months 335 criminal acts with elements of corruption have been revealed," he stated.

"In the previous period, government representatives have visited many countries and on this occasion I want to thank First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic and Minister without portfolio in charge of European integration Jadranka Joksimovic who had established contacts with which we can protect our rights and interests and lobby on a much higher level than before," he said.

"There is a special reason why the government marks the first 100 days of its work at the Science and Technology Park in Belgrade. The state will invest at least EUR 10 million in start-ups, business incubators and scientific and technological parks, primarily in Novi Sad and Nis," Vucic said.

After the press conference attended by his ministers, the prime minister "met with representatives of the companies in this complex which develop their innovative products and services, and to whom he told that the government will further help IT sector," the Serbian government announced.
