Hofer: Austria should support Serbia on EU path

After speaking with Serbian National Assembly President Maja Gojkovic, he told Tanjug that an important topic of the meeting was Serbia's EU accession and the question of the role Austria should play in this process.

"I believe that Serbia will soon finish its part of the work in the accession process and that the ratification process will follow. Vetoes within the EU by individual countries cannot be ruled out in that process. Austria's task must be to mediate and resolve the problem of vetoes", said Hofer.

Hofer, whose visit was announced earlier in the week, was on Wednesday received by Serbia's President Tomislav Nikolic.
