A group of migrants held a protest near the main bus station in Belgrade. A fight broke out, and some of the refugees left for the Hungarian border on foot.

Refugees protest in Belgrade, fight and leave for the border
The migrants’ walked down the roadway and stopped the traffic, protesting because they cannot cross the border with Hungary. The conflict was the result of one group’s refusing to join the protest and refuse the food offered as help by Info park.A group of around 300 migrants then started walking across Novi Beograd toward the north of Serbia, accompanied by the police.
The protest started around 8 AM at the part near the bus station, and after 9 AM some of the migrants decided to walk to the Hungarian border in protest against Hungary refusing to let the migrants freely enter its territory.
As Info pult told Beta at the bus station, after some time a group of migrants started walking toward the border, but near Nemanjina street they turned around and returned to the park, where they attacked another group that stood waiting for food in front of Info pult.
“They came back and attacked the group that was just standing in the park because they didn’t want to go with them. There were no injured, but it was very tense. The police had to intervene and break them apart,” says a witness from Info pult and adds that some non-government organizations’ activists fired the migrants up to start walking toward Hungary.
Due to these events, Info pult is closed for the time being. The police are present at the park and the nearby streets, and the traffic on Karađorđeva street was temporarily shut down because of the protest.
The situation near the Belgrade bus station is back to normal, as it was in the previous days.
