The contingent will be equipped with thermal vision cameras, Stefanovic told reporters in the Belgrade municipality of Mladenovac.

A similar invitation has been sent to the Austrian and the French police, Stefanovic said, expressing the expectation that the reinforcements would boost stability and security on Serbia's state borders.

Also on Thursday, Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic and Hungarian Ambassador to Belgrade Attila Pinter agreed that relations between the two countries were on a very high level and that neither side wanted the pressure associated with the migrant crisis to affect their bilateral relations.

Dacic received a courtesy visit from Pinter, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

They agreed both countries were committed to continuing the intensive political dialogue and cooperation in all fields of mutual interest, the statement said.

They exchanged views on the current situation in the region.

Dacic reiterated his gratitude for Hungary's support for Serbia's European integration process, the statement also said.
