Kazakh leader presented with Serbian Church's top decoration
Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) head Patriarch Irinej has awarded President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev with the Order of Saint Sava, First Grade.

"A decision of the Holy Synod of Bishops, read out by the Bishop of Toplica Arsenije, pointed out that the highest order of the church is awarded to President Nazarbayev for his contribution to the establishment of genuine friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Serbia," the SPC website said.The order is also awarded to Nazarbayev for his contribution to the development of economic and business relations with companies from Serbia and especially for the establishment of an equal treatment of religions in Kazakhstan, the Church said.
The president of Kazakhstan is on an official visit to Serbia, during which he has had separate meetings with President Nikolic and Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic. Nazarbayev also presented Nikolic with the Order of Friendship, and attended the unveiling of a bust of Kazakh poet Jambyl Jabayev.
