"I think that Vucic has well evaluated that Serbia's satisfaction with the new government will be determined by economic achievements," Nikolic told reporters in the Assembly building, Beta reported.

Nikolic noted that Vucic had selected a team which would facilitate a much better life for citizens as soon as next year and noted that better results had been achieved even during the previous government, which served only two years in office.

"Four years is a long period and I expect to see a much better living standard," Nikolic said.

He also said that Vucic's government "has not had an easy job ever since 2012," Tanjug reported.

According to Nikolic, the country's course is "not to have favorites, nor those whom we don't like and won't cooperate with, instead, everyone in the world is equal to us and if we can get any benefit for citizens from anyone, we do."

Under such circumstances, "sometimes one of the big and strong powers is not satisfied, because they ask that we choose sides."

"I am convinced that the Serbian government and Serbia will not take any sides and that citizens' better living will be the imperative," Nikolic said, adding that the new government "had his support - something he said clearly before the election."
