U.S. vice-president, Russian PM to visit Belgrade - report

Biden's visit is planned for August 18, while Medvedev is due to arrive in Belgrade in early September. Both will be visiting the Serbian capital for the first time in seven years.

Intelligence and technical preparations for the arrival of the high-level guests from Washington and Moscow have already begun, the daily reported.

According to the article, U.S. vice-president and Serbian officials are expected to discuss bilateral relations, economic cooperation and Washington's support for Serbia's EU integration, while the Russian prime minister will speak with his hosts about further deepening of economic and political partnership between the two countries.

Another topic could be the export of Fiat vehicles, but also an agreement on the rights and obligations of members of the Serbian-Russian Humanitarian Center in Nis - something that President Tomislav Nikolic spoke about in the past.

The news about these upcoming the visits comes at a time when pressure from the West and from Russia on PM-designate Aleksandar Vucic is being discussed publicly in Serbia, as the media speculate that each side has a "list of names" they either want, or do not want to see in Serbia's new government.

Vucic was supposed to meet with Biden last year in Washington, but the meeting was canceled over the death of the U.S. official's son.

As an argument in favor of its claim that a cabinet will be put together by the time the first visit takes place, the newspaper writes that it learned that some members of Serbia's National Assembly "received signals not to leave Belgrade next week, because a session of the assembly (to elect a government) could be scheduled."
