Strong U.S. support for Serbia's reforms, EU integration

Jadranka Joksimovic and Kyle Scott noted the significance of the opening of the two chapters, which they said were significant not only for European integration but for the reform process conducted by the government, the Serbian government press office said in a statement.

These are two inseparable processes, set to embark on a more dynamic stage in the wake of the opening of the chapters, they said.

Joksimovic said the new government would remain committed to European integration, noting the significance of merit-based progress in the future.

The new government will continue to invest maximum efforts to make positive results as visible as possible and ensure the citizens can feel concrete benefits, she said.

Scott expressed US support for the process of Serbia's EU integration, noting the significance of the country's EU membership.

He also praised Serbia's conduct regarding regional cooperation and the ongoing migrant crisis.

The strong US support for Serbia's reform process and European integration has been recognized, Joksimovic said.
