It does not depend on Serbia whether Britain's possible EU exit will produce any effects on Serbia's path towards EU membership.

Effects of UK's exit on Serbia's EU bid "not up to Serbia"

According to him, Serbia "needs to do everything up that's up to it to reach European standards, strengthen the economy, raise the level of the rule of law and living standards."

Selakovic, responding to journalists' questions, added that he "did not want to comment on the consequences of Great Britain's possible exit from the European Union."

In addition, he has been quoted as saying that "the government of Aleksandar Vucic showed there is a number of problems that do not depend on Britain, the U.S., China, Russia, but on ourselves, our dedication, diligence and work."

"I am confident that we can in this way solve by ourselves the greatest number of problems that affect the lives of our citizens, while our position can be even further improved through partner and friendly relations with big countries of the world," said Selakovic.
