Ugljanin: We've not been invited - but would have refused

"There were rumors about whether we had been invited into government. We said we had not been invited and that even if we had been, I personally would not have accepted it," this former cabinet minister said, "explaining that the reason were violations of coalition agreements in connection with the Office for Sustainable Development," Tanjug reported.

Ugljanin added that he would "support anything that was good and criticize everything that was bad for Bosniaks (Muslims)."

Last week, Nikolic met with SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic, while earlier today, he spoke with representatives of the SPS-JS coalition, the one led by the Democrats, as well as with the Radicals (SRS), the SDS-LDP-LSV and the Dveri-DSS coalitions, and the Enough is Enough Movement.

The SDA Sandzak was one of five electoral lists representing Serbia's ethnic minorities that on April 24 won seats in the new National Assembly without having to cross the 5-percent threshold. Representatives of the other four minority lists also met with the president on Monday.

The Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (LSV) wants to continue cooperation with the Serb Progressive Party (SNS), SVM leader Istvan Pasztor said afterwards.

Pasztor told reporters that there was an agreement in principle with SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic concerning that cooperation, adding that when conditions were created for making it more concrete, they would make the next move.

Asked if he had talked about it with Vucic, Pasztor said he talked with him over the phone on two occasions and had had contacts with SNS representatives, but primarily to discuss issues concerning the Vojvodina province and local authorities.

Pasztor added that he expected the provincial assembly of Vojvodina and the provincial authorities to be set up by mid-June.

Asked what would decide if the SVM would be part of the provincial government, Pasztor said that it depended on the position of the SNS about it and it was a question to ask the SNS.
