Hague report on Serbia's cooperation "could be negative"

"We'll see what next steps the Tribunal will take - whether they'll continue to exert pressure both toward the UN Security Council and Brussels (EU)," he said, adding that the amount of pressure on Serbia will depend on that.

Ljajic, who spoke a day after a Belgrade court decided not to extradite three SRS party officials wanted by the Hague Tribunal on contempt of court charges, said he did not wish to interfere in the work of the judiciary, and noted that the ruling was not final.

He added that "Croatia's reaction could be key for Serbia's EU integrations."

"I'm afraid that this will be used to further lobby against the opening of chapters 23 and 24," Ljajic said, referring to chapters Serbia's EU accession negotiations.
