EU rep "impressed by Serbia's response to migrant crisis"
He spoke on the topic of refugee crisis and economic and social implications for the EU member-states and Serbia during at a Europe Day conference organized by the Belgrade-based Faculty of Economics, Finance and Administration (FEFA) in Belgrade."Since last summer, Serbia has accepted hundreds of thousands of refugees. I am impressed by the manner in which Serbia is tackling such a challenge," Davenport said.
"Last June, when the challenges began, the Serbian government made it clear that it will not tolerate hate speech. It is very important and it is a message that was not so clearly delivered in some other countries," said Davenport, adding that we had heard and seen many positive news of Serbian citizens, families and police accepting refugees humanely.
