Serbia's central electoral commission RIK on Thursday began a recount of votes from 99 polling stations.

RIK recounts votes from 99 polling stations

"The recount is under way, at 99 polling stations," RIK president Dejan Djurdjevic told Tanjug.

At a session that lasted until 02:00 CET on Thursday, the RIK members agreed that bags containing ballots from all polling stations affected by "grave errors" be inspected, and commissions were established for this purpose.

After the recount, the RIK session will be continued in order to make a decision on the fate of the votes from the polling stations concerned.

The deadline for the commission to announce the final results will expire at midnight today, however, voting will be repeated at 15 polling stations, most likely next week, so this deadline will move as well.
