Croatia's approval for chapter 23 "still pending"
The minister without portfolio in charge of European integration told newspaper Danas that all procedures related to the preparation for the opening of these chapters could be completed on time if Croatia gives its consent soon, the government said on its website. An intergovernmental conference for the opening of chapters 23 and 24 would then be held until the end of the presidency of the Netherlands to the European Union, i.e., until the end of June.
"As for the Croatian requests, I think that if there is a genuine intention and good will to resolve bilateral issues by not obstructing negotiations, it will be a good signal. If not, we will additionally burden the relations, which I think no one needs," Joksimovic said and added that Serbia is "closely monitoring the messages coming from the neighboring countries."
"Our country has done all that was necessary to open the chapters, which is recognized by all other (EU) member states," she said.
