"Croats can hamper Serbia's EU bid, but it wouldn't be good"
She pointed out that Zagreb "can slow down Serbia's European integration" but that this "would not be a good message."Asked to comment on the negative reactions from Croatia because war crimes suspect Vojislav Seselj will not be in The Hague during the reading of his veridict, Joksimovic said she "expects our neighbors to understand that Serbia is sincere in establishing good relations and reforms," adding this is "recognized across the EU."
When it comes to the specific demands made by Croatia regarding the opening of chapter 23, the minister said it concerned issues "not sufficiently large to postpone the opening."
She also said that "in terms of the action plan for minorities Serbia fulfilled its obligations" and pointed out that with the opening of chapters, "reforms are gaining pace."
Joksimovic assessed that Serbia will be ready to open more chapters, citing as examples chapter 5 on public procurement, 20 on industrial and entrepreneurial policy, 25 and 26 on education and science, and 13 on fishing.
