RSHC's Russian staff "should also have diplomatic immunity"

In a written statement on Friday, signed by party leader Nenad Popovic and carried by Beta agency, the Serb People's Party (SNP) said the Russian personnel should have the same status given to NATO members.

"The SNP thinks Serbia should consistently implement the military neutrality determined by the Assembly of Serbia, and that means our state's balanced cooperation with all military alliances," the statement said.

Popovic stated that Serbia should expand its military cooperation with Russia, "as it has done with NATO."

"As the Assembly of Serbia recently adopted a decision to raise cooperation with NATO to the highest level, we think Serbia should now raise military cooperation with Russia to the same level as with NATO," the statement added.

Last week in the National Assembly, the SNP voted against the confirmation of a logistics support agreement between Serbia and NATO.
