Vulin curious about Hague dates, doubtful borders will close
The Hague Tribunal said earlier they would announce the verdict in the trial of Vojislav Seselj on March 31."In addition to being in the middle of the election campaign, the bombing started on March 24 (1999). One could have done without it, I do not know who choses these dates for them, but I will try not to say everything I think about the Hague, and my opinion is very bad," Vulin told Belgrade-based TV Pink broadcaster.
Speaking about the migrant crisis, he said he "doubts that a March 1 closure of borders is possible."
"I do not believe that anyone would do that at this time," Vulin said on Friday.
"We have no such announcements - we are communicating with all countries and all we have are the latest rules set by the Austrian government, which reduce the number of those who may seek asylum in the territory of that state and introduce specific quotas for people who will be transiting through the country," Vulin, who also heads a working group on the migrant issue, said.
"So there is no closure of borders, but there is definitely border control, which has been stepped up significantly," Vulin said, adding that Serbia seeks a unified EU approach.
Serbia merely insists on being notified timely of any change of policy, he said.
Vulin reiterated that Serbia "does not want to create a concentration camp and take them to prison, because migrants are passing through."
When it comes to the quota system, Vulin said the EU should first declare itself on what they plan to do, "and then Serbia will, too."
