"If some of the parties that we have invited to the meeting continue to attack the DS as they have done so far, and at the same time to avoid mentioning (Aleksandar) Vucic in a critical context, it will not be good neither them, or for the citizens of this country. For that reason as convincingly the largest opposition party, we want to reach agreement with the opposition and replace the regime," said Pajtic.

He declined to specify which parties he had in mind.

Asked if he expected the LDP, the SDS and the LSV - who yesterday announced they would form a coalition - to ask the Democrats to join - or if they would join the bloc of the DS, he replied that his party "has no intention of engaging in oneupmanship with anyone."

"As the largest opposition party, we are ready to cooperate, without competing in the same block. We must all show maturity. We as a party we are indisputably a big and a parliamentary party, we do not need a coalition to cross the threshold, but we have no right to underestimate anyone or set conditions for them. We will insist only on one thing, and that is the replacing of Vucic," said the leader of the Democrats.

According to him, the Democratic Party, the largest opposition party, wants to offer gather political organizations and trade unions based on a program, those "which together can defeat the SNS."

Pajtic also said the current Serbian government is made up of people who have no knowledge or ability to lead the country, "and it is clear to everyone, as it is clear that if the turnout is higher than 60 percent Vucic will lose power."

"We offer a policy changes a policy that will not impoverish, humiliate and intimidate citizens," said Pajtic.

The meeting of opposition parties is scheduled for today at 16:00 CET.
