"Iranian hosts gave Serbian speaker hijab she wore"

According to the report, Gojkovic had packed scarves for her trip - but her luggage never arrived in Tehran, so she wore the hijab provided by the Iranian hosts.

MP Dragomir Karic who was a member of the delegation said "the whole story" started in Belgrade, when their connecting flight to Istanbul was late. Once in Istanbul, the delegation "barely managed" to catch the plane to Tehran, with most of their luggage left behind.

In Tehran, "the host offered the clothes to the president (of the Serbian assembly). And she took the hijab and the clothes from them. It was the most normal thing to accept, because we went to our meetings straight from the plane," Karic said.

He also stressed that "the job well done in Iran is more important that the hijab story," and that Serbia was "represented in the best possible way." Iranian businesspeople are now expected to arrive here, Karic said.
