"Serbia won't be turned into concentration camp"

Vulin said that migrants do not wish to stay in Serbia, and stressed that the government "cannot and will not make a concentration camp out of Serbia, but it is up to it to take care of migrants during the winter, offer them protection."

"To make sure no child freezes and no child is left in a park. That's our job and we will do that. You heard (EC President) Juncker who spoke about temporary reception capacities. Therefore, there will be no permanent staying," the minister said, and added:

"That's not something that depends on you and me. Those are the people who do not wish to stay in Serbia - they don't want to be almost anywhere except in Germany, Sweden, Austria, countries that are not in the Balkans."

Speaking about temporary capacities, he said the work to adapt a reception center in Adasevac, a former motel, was recently finished.

"In Principovac, it's a former hospital. Whatever we consider to be convenient, to be usable without great expenses and can be done quickly, will be taken into account. It's also important that it's on the route along which migrants move," he concluded.
