The plant started trial production a year ago. It currently employs 490 people, 310 of which are on permanent contracts and 180 are in training.

According to announcements, the plant should be hiring around 800 people by May next year, and the number is planned to rise to one thousand by the end of 2016.

After the official opening ceremony, Vucic said that he expected the Serbs and the Hungarians to open many new factories and create thousands of new jobs.

“This is the result of good cooperation and joint work of the two governments,” Vucic stressed.

The Hungarian foreign minister noted that the opening of the factory was a confirmation of the strong friendship and excellent economic relations between the two countries.

Szijjarto specified that the volume of trade between Serbia and Croatia totaled EUR 1.4 billion last year, and expressed hope that it would increase even further in 2015. The Hungarian minister underlined that the opening of the production plant was very important for the region and Central Europe, and announced that Exim Bank and the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce planned to open representative offices in Belgrade.
