Serbian PM accepts invitation to visit China
According to a Serbian government statement, Chinese Ambassador in Belgrade Li Manchang on Monday met with Vucic and handed him Keqiang's letter, which invites Vucic to a bilateral visit to the People's Republic of China "in a very friendly tone, addressing him as a personal friend, without with the use of the T-V distinction."In the letter, the Chinese prime minister, among other things, concluded "with great satisfaction that Sino-Serbian relations are developing successfully, that there were continuous new successes in concrete cooperation in energy, trade, transport and other areas, and that the two sides are investing maximum efforts in implementing those agreements reached during his visit to Serbia last December."
In the same letter, Keqiang invited Vucic to attend the the 4th Summit of Heads of Governments of China and 16 Central and Eastern Europe countries, which will be held in China in November.
Vucic and Ambassador Li also discussed the construction and modernization of the railway line between Belgrade and Budapest so that the realization of this project, of vital importance for Serbia, could start by year-end.
They spoke about other projects in Serbia in which Chinese companies are taking part, particularly in areas of infrastructure and energy, as well as opportunities to export Serbian products to the Chinese market and other aspects of possible economic cooperation between the two countries, the statement said.
