"This offer is considerably more favorable than the previous ones," writes the paper, adding that the MoD had received four offers: from Russia's private Avia League, the state-owned Rosoboronexport, the French-German Airbus Helicopters, and the Italian-British AgustaWestland.

Avia League offered the best deal for the helicopters - putting a price tag of USD 13.82 and 13.72 million on each - but this did not include equipment and training.

According to the article, in mid June "Russians" offered one helicopter for USD 15 million and asked for eight more million for equipment.

Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic was in Russia on Sunday for the closing of International Army Games, where he met with Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu "and appealed on him to influence a faster delivery of the helicopters." Shoigu then said that the helicopters will be delivered by the end of the year.

Gasic and Shoigu met at the Russian Armed Forces Alabino ranges near Moscow after the final race of the Tank Biathlon competition, in which a Serbian Army team came in third - behind Russia and China.
