Nikolic accepts credentials from new Japanese ambassador
Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic accepted on Friday the credentials from the newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Juichi Takahara.

"I am certain that there are numerous possibilities to enhance the economic cooperation and increase trade and Japanese investments in Serbia,” said Nikolic, noting that Japan is one of Serbia's most significant business partners in Asia.Nikolic expressed his gratitude to the Japanese government and its people for the humanitarian and development aid provided to Serbia, and for the readiness of Japan to support the economic growth of Serbia.
Ambassador Takahara conveyed to President Nikolic the wish of the Japanese emperor to keep strengthening the ties between the two countries, and stressed that Japan will continue to support Serbia and its educational, health care, sports and cultural institutions.
The government in Tokyo strongly values the efforts of Serbia on its EU accession path, and in the international cooperation aimed towards building progress and stability in the Western Balkans and in Europe, Takahara said.
The credentials ceremony was attended by Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic.
