President and Guard soldiers to travel to Beijing for parade

A unit of the Serbian Army's Guard will take part in the parade that will be staged "in the heart of Beijing," the paper said.

Nikolic's visit to China will last several days, during which he will meet with President Xi Jinping and discuss, among other issues, joint infrastructure projects, above all the high speed Belgrade-Budapest railroad that Chinese companies are interest in building.

The article noted that the Chinese Ministry of National Defense in April invited members of Serbia's Ministry of Defense and Army to take part in the parade, considering our country's contribution to WW2 victory over fascism, but also because of traditionally good relations between the two countries, and their armies.

Although the details are yet to be determined, the Guard unit should, similar to their participation in the May 9 military parade in Moscow - along with several representatives of other branches of the military - travel to Beijing in late August and start training with Chinese soldiers and those from other countries.
