PM to go to Srebrenica, "not interested" in security

"I have never been interested in security assessments," he told reporters, and added that another thing he had "no interest" in were "offensive statements made at Serbia's expense."

"I have bitten my tongue a hundred times in order not to respond to provocations and insults," said Vucic, and added that "the only thing that matters is to build better and more sincere relations between the Serb and the Bosniak peoples."

Asked to comment on a resolution on Srebrenica adopted by the European Parliament today, he noted that Croatian MEPs "played a leading role in that."

"I won't say anything more and I'll now bite my tongue one hundred and first time," said Vucic.

Earlier on Thursday, sources close to the government told B92 that the prime minister's attendance at the Srebrenica commemoration was "under a question mark."

Security assessments that were "not good" were given as one reason, while it was said another "could also be the atmosphere in Bosnia-Herzegovina" after a British draft on Srebrenica failed in the UN Security Council.

Late on Tuesday, Vucic announced that he would represent Serbia at that gathering, after his cabinet voted unanimously in favor of this.
