Vucic receives Japanese ambassador for farewell visit

Vucic thanked ambassador Kuroki for his efforts towards improving cooperation between Serbia and Japan.

He also "thanked the government of Japan for the significant humanitarian, development and financial assistance it has provided to Serbia."

"We wish to continue strengthening the ties with Japan as a great friend of our country," said Vucic, adding that he would be "honored to welcome Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Serbia."

Kuroki said that the most important task for his successor in Belgrade would be to arrange a visit by Prime Minister Vucic to Japan.

He noted that Serbia has made great progress during his term in office, stressing that it is important for the Serbian government to continue implementing the economic, legislative and social reforms.

Kuroki announced a new Japanese investment in Serbia, and voiced hope that in addition to economy, the two countries will also step up their cooperation in culture, sports and other areas.
