He added that the consultations in the UN about the resolution, which would be adopted ahead of the 20th anniversary of the crime in Srebrenica, have not yet begun.

Asked if the resolution is a way to put pressure on Serbia, Dacic replied that this is to be seen from the text of the document.

He stressed that Serbia is open to any dialogue, but that it is against using anniversaries of crimes for political purposes. "Paying tribute to the victims of any crime, including the crime in Srebrenica, is not an issue,” said Dacic.

"We expect the world to treat the crimes committed against Serbs in the same way,” the Serbian foreign minister underlined.

Previously, the media in Belgrade said that Britain was preparing a resolution to be adopted at the United Nations, which would proclaim July 11 a remembrance day.

Citing diplomatic sources, Belgrade-based daily Danas said in its Tuesday edition that the plan was to have the resolution adopted ahead of the 20th anniversary of the war crime in Srebrenica.

The daily said that the initiative also saw involvement by the Netherlands and the United States.

Another Belgrade daily, Blic, says that "the main target of the offensive from London is the Serb Republic Srpska (RS) and its president, Milorad Dodik."

This United Kingdom has joined Germany and the United States, which have already launched their campaigns to weaken Srpska and Dodik, the daily said.

The paper added the resolution would state that the Srebrenica crime was an act of genocide, and Serbia would not be accused directly, but would in some manner be brought in connection with the crimes, together with the RS.

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has said that Serbia has information that a western power is preparing a resolution on Srebrenica.

The Serbian parliament adopted in 2010 a declaration condemning the crime.
