All topics are on the table, and the easiest should be tackled first, chairman and SNS MP Zoran Babic said.

"Foreigners will not be writing our Constitution. The Constitution is written by citizens and citizens of the Republic of Serbia confirm it," he said, and added that "a dominant question was whether this is an action group for the writing of the Constitution."

"No, it is not, this is a group for the reform of the political system," Babic said.

The opposition SDS party said the precondition for its participation in the work of the team was for "political vanities to be removed and its work to be serious," and also expressed suspiction that "this could be a smoke screen to deflect from serious problems."

The League of Vojvodina Social Democrats considers "the future position of Vojvodina" to be the most important issue.

"I think eventually we'll come to the necessity to change the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, that is, to at least launch the initiative for the simple reason that this Constitution cannot take us to Europe. It will sooner or later become a barrier to Euro integrations," said Bojan Kostres.

By the next meeting of the team, all deputy groups in parliament will compile lists of laws they think should be changed. Petar Petrovic from United Serbia said he was not optimistic that solutions will be found soon, judging by the first meeting.

The Action Team will send invitations to NGOs, the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and also to parties formerly represented in parliament. In this work, according to the ruling majority, "best practices from the European Union should also be used."
