Head of state health insurance fund resigns
The director of the Republic Fund for Health Insurance (RFZO) on Thursday submitted his irrevocable resignation.

Babic was appointed to the position in early 2013, having previously served as director of the Clinical-Hospital Center Bezanijska Kosa in Belgrade, and as chair of the University Council.He was known for his close ties with Slobodan Milosevic and his family during the 1990s, when he served as a member of the main board of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and city secretary for health, as well as an MP.
After the fall of Milosevic he left the party and stayed out of politics for a long time. He was Vojislav Seselj's doctor during his hunger strike in the Hague, and also cared about the health of now President Tomislav Nikolic, during his hunger strike.
Babic is now a member of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS).
He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade and earned his masters in Moscow where he studied on a World Health Organization scholarship.
