The Board in Vukovar was taken off by citizen of Zagreb

Bilingual, Cyrillic-Latin boards were removed on Tuesday from the buildings of state institutions and offices in Vukovar after laying wreaths and lighting candles at the Memorial Cemetery of the war, marking thus 23 years since founding 204th Vukovar Brigade.

After giving their tribute, the part of ex-combatants went to the city and took off 14 bilingual boards off the facade of state institutions buildings and damaged the board on the building of the local police.

The boards were taken to the City Hall whereas the damaged board on the police building was soon replaced by a new one, however, last night around 7p.m. it was damaged again.

Since last fall so far in Vukovar bilingual boards have repeatedly been taken off and destroyed, only to be returned again to places provided by law.
