Gašić "thanked Romania for sending aid to Serbia during the massive flooding in May and for supporting it in the European integration process, another confirmation that the two countries were working together to create a more favorable neighborhood to ensure prosperity and development."

Gašić and Dusa also analyzed results achieved in the field of defense through cooperation in the areas of joint exercise and training, transportation and exchange of defense reform experience, focusing particularly on the results in the field of military aviation.

“We want to learn about experiences that Romanian soldiers have gained in EU battle groups, and also exchange those relating to the representation of the defense system in other structures that function within the Common Security and Defense Policy,” said Gašić.

The two ministers agreed that holding meetings at the highest level was important for preparing strategic directions for future defense cooperation.

Gašić invited his Romanian counterpart to pay an official visit to Serbia.

The minister is taking part in the meeting of the defense ministers of NATO member states with their counterparts from 24 partner countries, part of the annual NATO Summit in Wales.
