Presiding over the session, Milan Korać (PUPS), the oldest MP and a representative of the coalition of the Socialist Party of Serbia, the Party of United Pensioners of Serbia and United Serbia, wished the MPs "success in the joint work during the next term."

Most MP group leaders chosen

The leaders and deputies of most of eleven MP groups in the new parliament have been chosen after the constitutive session of the Serbian parliament on Wednesday.

As Tanjug was told at the Serb Progressive Party (SNS), Zoran Babić will again lead the party's MP group in the parliament, with Maja Gojković as his deputy.

The parties that ran in the March 16th election on the coalition slate "Future We Believe In - Aleksandar Vučić" will form a total of four MP groups. In addition to SNS, individual MP groups will be formed by Rasim Ljajić's Social Democratic Party of Serbia (SDPS) and the New Serbia (NP), while the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) and the Christian Democratic Party of Serbia (DHSS) will form a joint MP group.

Miroslav Markićević will lead the NS group and his deputy will be Dubravka Filipovski, Miodrag Mijatović will be the leader of SDPS group with Milena Bićanin as his deputy, and Aleksandar Jugović will head the joint SPO-DHSS group.

Dijana Vukomanović will again lead the MPs of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and Đorđe Milićević remains her deputy, SPS sources told Tanjug.

Besides SPS, the Party of United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS) and the United Serbia (JS), who ran in the parliamentary election in a coalition with the Socialists, will have their own MP groups, to be led by Milan Krkobabić and Dragan Marković, respectively.

The New Democratic Party (NDS), which entered the parliament for the first time, will also have an MP group, with Marko Đurišić as the leader and Janko Veselinović as his deputy, Tanjug's sources at NDS say.

The League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV), one of the parties in the NDS-led coalition, will also form a separate MP group.

Democratic Party (DS) leader Dragan Đilas will head the party's MP group in the parliament, and his deputy will be Nataša Vučković, Tanjug reports.

The Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) will form a separate MP group, with one member more compared to the previous parliament makeup. The party's MPs will be led by Balint Pastor, with Laslo Varga as his deputy.

It remains to be seen whether an MP group representing the majorities will be formed in the new parliament, considering that it would require at least five MPs.
