Serbia's policy on Kosovo "won't change"

The Brussels agreement on the normalization of relations and all related agreements will be implemented and Serbian officials will be present in Kosovo every day, he said.

The next government will decide whether to adopt a new resolution on Kosovo, he said.

He is concerned about the Kosovo bill on general elections because it reduces the rights of national minorities, stressing that it is a violation of the Brussels agreement.

Priština will have to change the bill if it wants Serbs to live in Kosovo, otherwise it will legalize the results of ethnic cleansing, he said.

"The provision that says only Kosovo citizens can vote, but not those born in Kosovo who were later driven out constitutes a continuation of the policy of ethnic cleansing," he said.

According to Vulin, "there are more voters in Kosovo now, but the new election law by Priština is reducing their seats in parliament."

The Kosovo assembly in Priština accepted in general on Thursday the election bill, while the final vote for its adoption will happen after a debate and a vote on the amendments.

"The actions of the Kosovo parliament are dangerous and disturbing and indicate that Serbs are not welcome," Vulin said.

This is unacceptable and the Serbian government has informed the international community about this, he said.

Regarding the potential creation of a Kosovo army, he said UN SC Resolution 1244 stated clearly there was no other armed force in Kosovo except KFOR.

Kosovo is going through an election campaign, so there is talk about forming an army and including the Serbs in it through civil defence, he said.

"That will not happen, and Serbia's view on it is clear. A Kosovo army is unacceptable and would destabilize the region, he said, adding that Kosovo was under UN protection and needed no army," Vulin stated.

"If there is an army of Kosovo than Resolution 1244 is in question, since it states that Kosovo is a part of Serbia, so the UNSC will then have to give an opinion on it," he said.
