"Only one Albanian party from south to take part in polls"

The outcome, the newspaper said, is status quo: those Albanian parties that already announced they would boycott the March 16 elections have not changed their mind, while only the PDD, led by Riza Halimi, will take part and has started gathering signatures to support their list.

The meeting with Bushati was attended by Halimi, National Council of Albanians President Galip Beciri, and mayors of Bujanovac and Preševo Nagip Arifi and Ragmi Mustafa.

The PDD has announced that Mustafa and Arifi did not wish the election list to be put together "based on the principle of proportionality of electoral strength from the last elections in Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa."

But Halimi himself has been accused of rejecting a proposal for the six parties that initially decided to take part in elections to suggest the person that would top the election list.
