SNS "won't discuss future coalition during campaign"

The state of the national economy allows no delays, she said, adding that it is important for Serbia to finally end the period of transition.

Elections have been called for that very reason, to speed up economic reforms, Mihajlović told reporters after attending Tanjug's panel discussion on anti-crisis measures.

Asked who the SNS sees as a desirable coalition partner and whether the government was brought down "in order to replace the Socialist Party of Serbia", she said that "no one in any party can predict coalition partners in the future government."

For the duration of the election campaign, the Progressives will not discuss a future coalition, she stated, and added:

"We had a cabinet session yesterday and nobody at any point spoke about future coalition partners, and nobody could tell you that."

Early parliamentary elections will be held in Serbia on March 16.
