Progressive Party submits election list
The list was handed over to the Republic Election Commission (RIK) in the afternoon.Any ticket that wishes to compete in parliamentary elections must submit at least 10,000 signatures of citizens.
"Accelerate changes"
"The SNS will conduct a positive campaign for the elections scheduled for March 16 which will focus on three goals, including encouragement of economic development, safety of pensioners and continuation of the fight against corruption and crime," said he.
“Our goal is economy, creation of as many jobs for the young as possible, as well as encouragement of entrepreneurial spirit and the private sector,” Vučić told the SNS Main Board session where the list of MP candidates was presented.
The second goal is the protection of pensioners - "because SNS will not allow savings measures to jeopardise the pensioners' living standards, while the third goal covers the continuation of the fight against corruption and crime," said Vučić who also holds office as the deputy prime minister in the outgoing government coalition.
Citizens wish the changes in the country to be conducted at a much faster pace than was the case so far, he said.
“We stand witness to the process in which internal problems are damaging our capacities to implement reforms and there are some which would even like to slow down the fight against corruption and organised crime although considerable progress has been made in the area of late,” he said.
The list is entitled, "Aleksandar Vučić - Future we believe in."
Most of the 250 candidates come from the SNS, while some are members of New Serbia, Social Democratic Party of Serbia and the Movement of Socialists, and there are also several non-partisan figures.
