BELGRADE Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic believes that Serbia, regardless of the decision of the European Council, has done everything to fulfill all its obligations. He added that these results should be respected. "Serbia did everything to fulfill all obligations" Selakovic said that the Council had the power to "decide what it likes", but that "what is important is that Serbia has invested maximum effort to achieve what it has committed itself to, and what it did in a year and a half is more than impressive." Selakovic expressed confidence that the European Council can appreciate the results and will, "as it obligated itself," by the end of January start EU accession negotiations with Serbia. Commenting on the possibility that these talks could be moved from January to March in order to prevent early parliamentary elections in Serbia, Selakovic called it "speculation" and said there was "evil intent" behind it. Asked whether he was surprised by the announcement of the SNS colleague Vladimir Cvijan that he will run for president of the party, he said: "Nothing can surprise me when it comes to that colleague." The minister added that he heard rumors that Cvijan was "trying to influence certain court decisions, calling on his post as president of the Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Affairs." Selakovic then "urged all judges to notify the High Judicial Council if they had similar problems." (Tanjug, file) Beta RTS
