BELGRADE Prime Minister Ivica Dacic underscored on the Monday that NATO's KFOR mission "remains the guarantee of the security of Serbs in the southern Serbian province." He made the statement during his meeting in Belgrade with members of the delegation of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Members of the delegation underscored that "as one of the most important countries in the Balkans, Serbia is building peace and stability in the region, and expressed the belief that Serbia will continue its EU path and soon get the date of EU accession talks." Serbia insists on lasting stability in the region and the search for a solution to all open issues through dialogue, Dacic said, according to a government statement. The Serbian government launched a dialogue with the Pristina interim government so as to ensure lasting peace and survival of the Serb community in Kosovo and Metohija, the prime minister said and added that Serbia "insists on sustainable solutions in keeping with UN Security Council Resolution 1244, without violation of the verified principle on status neutral position."
