BELGRADE Zvecan Mayor Dragisa Milovic says Serbs in Kosovo must continue coordination with the one and only state they have, i.e., Serbia. Milovic stated that Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija "had no spare state", and that Aleksandar Vucic's trip to the north on Sunday was a good development. Serb town mayor wants "continued coordination" "It's good that Vucic went among the people, to hear the fears and wishes of the residents of Kosovo and Metohija to remain within the constitutional and legal system of the Republic of Serbia," the mayor told Belgrade-based daily Politika. He also stressed that a compromise solution must be found that will be worked on by official Belgrade and the international community. "I am certain that, based on parliament's decision, the people will not break," he said, and added that Serbs do not wish to enter the Kosovo system and live under the flag of Albania. Milovic believes that the will of the citizens must be respected, and their decision made in a referendum in February last year, when they near unanimously voted against accepting Pristina's institutions. Milovic said the Russian Federation officials were yet to send their response to the the plea of Serbs in northern Kosovo. The mayor said they asked Russians to help the state of Serbia, because the arrival of EULEX and the solving of the issue of Kosovo and Metohija under the EU umbrella "brought nothing but evil to the Serb people."
