BELGRADE A joint press conference of Serbian and Kosovo PMs Ivica Dacic and Hashim Thaci represents a “step forward”, says a Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) MP. Ivan Andric believes that parliament should discuss what has been done in the dialogue so far because MPs are not familiar with the content of an agreement, whether it would be reached and what consequences it could have. LDP: Parliament should discuss Belgrade-Pristina dialogue “This is a delicate moment and bad scenarios are still much more possible than good scenarios. I call for political responsibility of all participants in Serbia’s political life, primarily on people who lead the negotiations – (PM Ivica) Dacic, (First Deputy PM Aleksandar) Vucic and (President Tomislav) Nikolic to talk about it seriously,” the LDP MP stressed. He added that it was the first time that Dacic and Thaci held a joint press conference but that the fact that gave opposing statements caused concern. “The joint press conference represents a step forward in the dialogue,” Andric said and noted that the most important thing for his party at the moment was to stop “Dacic’s justifications where one thing is said in Brussels and the other in Serbia”. Stressing that the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina could not function until citizens supported it and actively participated in its implementation, the LDP MP said that the citizens therefore needed to know the details of the agreement. “The agreement needs to be discussed in a serious and responsible manner, primarily in the Serbian parliament. We should not be particularly interested in Dacic and Thaci’s personal reconciliation but we should be interested in whether two peoples will reconcile and if we set this as a goal, then it will be clear how Dacic needs to act and how he should explain such an agreement,” Andric concluded.
