Drecun noted that Belgrade had done “everything it could”. “We have defined the lower limit by the Resolution below which we cannot go and we have to adhere to it. There was a chance in Brussels to make Pristina approach the dialogue seriously and to solve the problem but Pristina, together with Washington, obviously intends on taking advantage of the situation,” Drecun stressed. The Committee on Kosovo chairman said that Pristina and Washington wanted to “get things that only Pristina would benefit from, to the detriment of interests of Serbia and its people in Kosovo”. “Pristina should change its stance because I do not see any compromise here. If Washington continues to support Pristina in such an unpromising policy, then we will not be the only one with the problem, the entire region will have it,” Drecun pointed out. He underscored that it was up to Washington and Brussels to reconsider their policy or try to find “at least some room for realistic interests” of Serbia and Serbs in Kosovo. The last round of talks between Serbian and Kosovo Prime Ministers Ivica Dacic and Hashim Thaci was held on March 4 in Brussels but the participants failed to reach an agreement on the forming of a community of Serb municipalitirs.
