BELGRADE Criminal Investigations Police Administration in 2008 recorded meetings between IM Ivica Dacic and a high-ranking member of drug lord Darko Saric’s gang. This is according to Belgrade-based daily Informer. Daily claims IM met with member of drug lord’s gang The daily writes that the prime minister and interior minister did not want to comment on the allegations. However, his closest associates told the daily that Dacic had not known four and a half years ago that Rodoljub Radulovic was a criminal. B92 was told by security services that they had information that Dacic met with a member of Saric’s gang. Informer claims that the interior minister met with Radulovic in November and December 2008 and that the Criminal Investigations Police Administration has already sent the evidence of Dacic’s communication with the member of the runaway drug lord’s gang to the Prosecution. The daily reports that that it is allegedly written in the Criminal Investigations Police Administration’s reports that the interior minister and his former Chief of Staff Branko Lazarevic had often contacted Radulovic. Lazarevic on Friday denied he had any ties with members of Saric’s gang. The daily’s sources from the PM’s office say that Dacic is “shocked by the police’s actions”. “This is horrible scandal that needs to be investigated thoroughly. It is horrible what the Criminal Investigations Police Administration did to its minister behind his back and that the police officers did not inform him that Radulovic was under the investigation. The police’s job is to protect all state officials from meetings with suspects. Criminal Investigations Police Administration operatives should have informed the minister that Radulovic was under the investigation. They failed to do so and they fabricated the videos they are now trying to use to blackmail the minister. They will not succeed,” one of Dacic’s closest associates told Informer, adding that this was just another attempt to prevent dismissal of Serbian Police Director Milorad Veljovic. B92
